Taking a few minutes here to talk about brain health. A crowded mind is something we have all experienced at one point or another.

The inability to complete tasks, having multiple tabs open at the same time, sluggish response times in conversation, or struggling to reply to text messages or emails!

A great first step is to have grace with yourself during this time. The overwhelm occurs because we have sooo many thoughts going on in our heads at once – let’s not have negative self-talk be another one to add.

Taking 3 deep breaths is an extremely effective place to start when feeling flooded with thoughts but also physically frozen.

After a few deep breaths – the mind can drop back into the body, bringing awareness to the present moment.

Plus, breathing doesn’t require buying a new supplement, exercise class, or learning course lol. If you’re like me, solutions sometimes feel out of reach which could result in these *sometimes* unnecessary purchases.

After a few deep breaths, pat yourself with your hands – this may sound silly but it actually “wakes up” the energy meridians in the body. Everything is energy.

Now, it’s time to take small action (to create momentum). This does not mean we dive straight into that massive to-do list. Keep in mind we just got back into the body after being mentally checked out for a bit there!

Pick a small physical win that’s easy for you – go for a walk, water the garden, call a friend, sing a favorite song. Simple but the key here is to express, move the body or get into nature.

After getting back into the body and moving stagnant energy, check back in with your mind and body – and revisit those feelings we mentioned at the top of this post.

Much love from my brain to yours!! :)
